Then, to top it off, we started getting threats of lawsuits.
Not only had our company bit the bullet and spent a massive sum on getting rid of the bugs…but now we would have to pay litigation fees?
UGH.
Luckily, those threats never came to fruition of actual lawsuits. But, the damage to our reputation was done anyway, in the form of bad reviews and scating social media posts. We had to spend a ton of time getting happy tenants to give us good reviews, in order to bury the terrible ones.
The time.
The money.
The headache.
I was at my witts end with all of it.
And it was at that point I realized I needed to figure out a way to detect these demon-like-creatures early on, BEFORE they became full-on infestations.
I knew that I couldn’t stop my residents from accidentally bringing bed bugs and cockroaches onto the property…they are free to travel to Paris and NYC on an airline, buy furniture at Goodwill, and take Ubers.
That’s why I became obsessed with finding a way to detect bed bugs early on…
…WITHOUT making my maintenance staff turn over every tenant’s mattress and look in their nightstand (things nobody wants to see, or be seen!)
But no solution at the time existed.
And so I became even more obsessed, using my time to research all about pest control, bed bugs, cockroaches, infestations, and new technology…
